Today sees the launch of Microsoft's Office 2000 package. This release of the suite has improved group working capabilities and provides tools for working with the Internet and intranet more effectively. New features include the ability to save PowerPoint presentations as Web pages, to treat files stored on Web servers exactly as if they were on a local disk and an improved clipboard facility which can store multiple items from different sources. As with previous releases, there are several Office 2000 editions and the components are also available individually. The standard edition of the product costs £439, or £199 for an upgrade from a previous version or competing product.
