US Robotics is to package Netscape's Navigator browser with its popular Courier and Sportster modem ranges.
Netscape is attempting to expand the numbers of channels by which users can get their browser, as part of its battle with Microsoft. It is offering Navigator at heavily discounted rates to ISPs and others to achieve this end.
US Robotics has not bundled a browser with its products in the past but the company, now owned by networking vendor 3Com, sells large numbers of modems to the consumer market which Netscape is keen to further exploit.
So far the bundling deal is only for the US and no announcement has been made for Europe as yet.
