Hilton International has signed a £2m deal with BT and broadband company STSN to install high-speed internet access in all guest rooms in its 60 hotels across the UK and Ireland.
The deal follows the roll-out of BT Openzone public area wireless high-speed internet access hotspots and STSN's managed conference services across the Hilton's UK and Ireland hotels in the past year.
BT will manage the roll-out of the project and installation of the services, and STSN will provide hardware and ongoing support.
Wolfgang M. Neumann, area president for Hilton UK and Ireland, said in a statement: "A third of business travellers say that not having easy internet access when travelling creates business problems, especially in responding to office emails.
"We are working with key industry leaders BT and STSN to ensure that these are problems the traveller never faces when staying with Hilton."
Graeme Powell, managing director for STSN Europe, added: "This deal with Hilton UK and Ireland represents the largest installation of its kind and is a significant milestone for STSN."
