Vocal Technologies released VoIPfax last week, a fax application that provides real-time faxing over the Internet. Implemented as digital subscriber line-based modules, VoIPfax allows users to fax over any public or private IP network using the International Telecommunication Union's T.38 standard for faxing over IP networks. As specified by the T.38 standard, VoIPfax supports TCP/IP and UDP/IP transmission modes and a range of Group 3 modulations.
