Cincom aims to broaden out its Total Framework template-based development environment to provide users with vertical market frameworks by the end of next year.
Total Framework currently only provides the supplier's Vars with the base plumbing to create object-based packages, but Cincom is working with its channel to develop a library of components, so customers can pick and choose the objects they want.
It expects to have the library in place by the end of next year.
Chris Rees, Cincom's UK partner manager, said: "By the end of 1998, we expect to start to see this type of technology moving into the mainstream. We're currently developing long term relationships. It's not a case of making lots of money with this at the moment."
