The firms will also collaborate on Cray's proposal for Phase Three of the US Federal government's Darpa High Productivity Computing Systems.
The programme aims to provide next-generation systems for the national security, scientific and industrial user communities that run applications at speeds of one petaflop (a million billion calculations per second) or more by the end of the decade.
