Select Software plans to rebadge Softlab's Enabler repository as Select Server, which will form part of its Select Component Factory.
The offering will be positioned as a central repository for sharing project management information and facilitating object reuse. BMW unit Softlab's Visual Enabler, which is an add-on product to Enabler, will also be resold. It handles version control and configuration management for development environments such as Forte, Visual C++, Visual Basic and Visual J++.
The products will ship with version 6.0 of the Select Enterprise modelling toolset, but will be free for existing customers and charged on a per user basis for new ones.
Softlab, meanwhile, will resell Select's Component Manager for browsing and cataloguing objects stored in Enabler and has the rights to sell Enterprise as part of its own solutions to customers.
