Richard Berger, head of Newbridge Networks' US sales, resigned from the Canadian networking company only weeks after the appointment of new chief executive Alan Lutz. The Ontario-based company has slowed of late, particularly in the domestic market, losing market share to its hugely successful rival, Cisco Systems. Cisco dominated the ATM-Wan markets in 1997 with a 30 per cent market share compared to Newbridge Networks' 23 per cent, up on 1996 by 18 per cent and 3 per cent respectively.
