Pervasive Software has merged its Btrieve and Scalable SQL databases to create Btrieve Pro 7.0, which, like its predecessors, is targetted at the VAR market. The offering includes logging technology and microkernel-based thread management, which, Pervasive claims, boosts performance 10-fold, and also comes with an InstallScout utility to make installation and maintenance easier. Btrieve Pro is available now under NetWare and Windows NT servers and is backwards-compatible with all previous versions.
