Dixons has announced a successor to chairman Sir Stanley Kalms. As from next year, Sir John Collins will step in to the role after Kalms goes into retirement.
Collins is currently chief executive of the Vestey Group, a position he has held for seven years. Prior to this he was chairman and chief executive of Shell for nearly 30 years. He is expected to replace Kalms after the Dixons Group annual general meeting in September next year.
"[Collins] has had a highly successful career in industry and the City. We look forward to the contribution he will make," said Kalms.
