IBM has thrown open the doors of its research lab... well, OK, a bit of it, to give visitors a chance to preview, use and experiment with next-generation Internet technologies still under development. The site currently contains a number of downloadable Java technologies, including an IRC client which lets you join in the chat experience with your Java-enabled Web browser and a program which enables you to create Java-based interactive Web 'components' without writing a single line of Java code. It's better than Active X.
