Internet service provider PSINet has activated a 155Mbps circuit undersea fibre-optic cable between the US and the UK. PSINet acquired the capacity through an indefeasible right-of-use agreement with the cable's owner, Global Crossing. The new trans-Atlantic segment has been successfully interconnected at PSINet's New York point of presence and in London to its leased fibre-optic network serving all of the UK. The link is part of the first stage of PSINet's 2.4Gbps network upgrade in the US. PSINet www.psinet.com.
