Developed in conjunction with marketing consultants, Wheeler Associates, andmarket researchers, McCallum Layton, the benchmarking tool is based on thefindings of a new research survey entitled Marketing the Advisers II.
Thesurvey, conducted by McCallum Layton, included 150 of the UK's leadingbusiness advisory firms in the legal, accountancy, property consultancy,management consultancy and financial services sectors. 25 of the UK'sleading accountancy firms took part in the survey, including two thirds ofthe Top 25.
It found that only nine per cent of respondents undertake all of thecritical marketing activities that represent best practice in professionalservices marketing. The new website allows marketers to compare theirperformance with their competitors in key areas.
It also allows marketers to compare levels of marketingspend, adjusted for their firm's size and sector. The research found thatthe top law firms spend as much as £5,900 per fee earner each year, whilesome smaller accountancy firms spend as little as £350.The site can be found at www.marketingtheadvisers.com.
