A senior police chief in the United Arab Emirates has accused Israel of using the Internet to spread disinformation. He also expressed concern that his country people, and other Arabs, could talk to Israelis over the Net, "exchanging important information". The chief, Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, reflected the extreme caution of many officials in the highly conservative UAE about the Internet, which they see as a medium to spread "undesirable" political and pornographic material.
