PCs based on the children's cartoon character Hello Kitty will soon be appearing at a store near you.
World Wide Licences (WWL) and Sanrio have teamed up to create the Hello Kittycharacter PC, which they plan to sell online. The Intel 400MHz system will come with a Hello Kitty mousepad, CD wallet wrist rest, speakers, and a screen frame with whiskers.
The companies are also looking to offer Hello Kitty Internet access together with online computer lessons and regular competitions.
CharacterPC.com is testing the online sales market in Hong Kong, where it released 3,000 Hello Kitty PCs earlier this month. WWL predicts a potential worldwide sales figure of six million for the computer.
The company plans to release the PC into Asia's largest markets by April,followed by Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the US.
