Information Builders (IBI) will announce next week that it has added Web features to its Cactus development tool. It will also launch a version of its datamart, customised for the SAP R/3 application suite.
Cactus 3.0 enables programmers to deploy Web browsers as a front end to their applications and also enables them to integrate Java applets and scripts. Cactus Workbench costs $3,250 per developer and Cactus Server ranges from $5,500 to $100,000.
The SnapPack Smartmart for R/3 includes data extraction and transformation tools, products for data modelling, data mining and a multidimensional database. The offering is due to ship in December and is expected to start at $35,000 under Windows NT and $70,000 under Unix.
