High street retailer WHSmith plans to push the DVD format in its stores nationwide after a succesful trial run.
WHSmith plans to make DVD titles available in 180 of its WHSmith and associated John Menzies stores. The decision was taken after ?highly successful? trialing of the format in a select number of its stores, said a company spokesperson.
It plans to promote the format with multibuy and Clubcard offers similar to that used on CDs. To educate consumers about the DVD format the store chain plans to run in store demonstrations.
