Unisys is to sell Novell?s corporate licensing agreements (CLAs) to medium and large companies in the Emea region, as well as offering customers a single point of contact for all Novell pre- and post-sales service needs.
CLAs allow distributed businesses to choose from a range of purchasing, site licensing and servicing options as well as gain preferential pricing if buying in bulk.
In a bid to steal Microsoft customers, Novell has also released tools to make it easier to migrate to Intranetware from other network platforms such as NT. Intranetware, which includes Novell?s directory services (NDS), is also available for download from Novell?s Web site.
The tools include Lmigrate, which migrates existing domain objects, file system data and access rights from NT Server, Lan Manager and Lan Server, to Intranetware. There is also a range of Dos/Windows and OS/2 client migration utilities plus Samba.nlm, which allows administrators to switch client workstations to Novell services by emulating Microsoft servers on an Intranetware or Netware 4 server.
