Stratus is offering customers of its fault tolerant servers $100,000 (£65,000) if they suffer downtime caused by its product.
The vendor, which sells indirect, said it would compensate buyers of its 6500 top-line triple redundancy fault tolerant (ft) server if they sign up for its business critical support contract.
Resellers can now tempt customers with a guarantee of uptime and cashback if downtime occurs in the first year of operations.
"Three nines is good but people do not need to accept this anymore," said Jeremy Lovett, business development director EMEA at Stratus.
"We want to add big value to our channel programme, and the more of this type of guarantee we can offer the easier it is for resellers to go to potential customers with cast-iron guarantees," he added.
Ian Shanahan, Stratus business development manager at tplc, said the distributor had enjoyed over £1m of business in Stratus ft servers since signing a distribution deal with the company in August.
"This offering is good because it raises the profile of Stratus with resellers and gives them a real, tangible and exciting story to take to their customers," he added.
Despite the Stratus and tplc partnership being in its infancy, the distributor signed 10 new resellers to sell the range in October and expects another 10 this month.
Shanahan said a great opportunity existed for resellers to sell into the investment banking, emergency services, enterprise telephony and manufacturing process and control sectors. "This $100,000 bounty shows a level of commitment that makes the user trust Stratus," he added.
The vendor is not expecting to have to pay a penny, Lovett said. "If a situation does arise we will pay up but the systems we have seen operating have delivered what it says on the tin, which is five nines out of the box and 100 per cent with the support contract."
