Compaq launched a family of hardware, software and services aimed at helping enterprise customers manage their PC infrastructure at its Innovate conference in Houston on Wednesday.
The PC Lifecycle Solutions range includes 29 services drawn together from Compaq's own product range and its Digital Equipment acquisition?s.
The bundles are intended to enable enterprise customers to reduce the complexity of their systems, control overall computing costs, and integrate and manage PCs, portable and workstations more easily.
Mike Winkler, senior vice president of Compaq's PC products group, said: "Our enterprise customers want comprehensive lifecycle services and support that will alleviate the burden of planning, deploying, managing and transitioning PCs in an enterprise environment - and that will allow them to concentrate on what they do best, which is managing their business."
The products range from Year 2000 assessment and PC deployment tools to Intelligent Manageability and PC technology transition software.
Winkler added: "We can provide the tools for customers to manage their PCs themselves or we can do it for them."
