Infinium Software is to launch new Windows NT-based software that gives employees access to human resources information from anywhere via the Internet. The modular Infinium Human Resources for Microsoft NT, due in July, is based in large part on Microsoft's Component Object Model (COM). The new software lets HR managers or department managers reuse data stored in back-end databases for multiple applications. Applications in the new software include resource management, applicant management, compensation and benefits, performance and evaluation, and training and development. By basing most of the software on COM, Infinium can use the transactional integrity in Microsoft's Transaction Server. In the future, the company plans to tap dynamic HTML to provide additional Web access in Human Resources for Microsoft NT. Pricing for the product was not announced.
