Siemens Nixdorf has added to its Risc-based line of Unix servers with a family of high-end Numa (non uniform memory access) based SMP machines which can handle up to 3,000 users. The RM600E series machines use the Mips R1000 chipset with quad processor boards which include a two layer bus system. They can be configured within a multiple parallel processing complex and allow configurations of up to 24 processors on an SMP machine and 192 processors in a multiprocessing box. SNI will debut the servers at Cebit.
