High street retailer Dixons has begun trialing a chain of dedicated games and software stores, @Jakarta, whose products will also be available online and via mail order.
The Dixons Group believes that @Jakarta will become a ?complete software destination? for a diverse group of consumers ranging from teenage gaming enthusiasts to home business PC users.
The first store has opened at Thurrock?s Lakeside shopping centre in east London and a second store will open in Brighton before Christmas.
?We will open other stores as and when,? commented a spokesperson for Dixons.
The stores will stock a wide range of PC and games console software and will be staffed by software and games enthusiasts, explained the spokesperson.
