An electrical problem with some power supplies in the 4100 range of Armada notebooks has prompted Compaq to announce a worldwide limited recall.
According to Compaq, a range of AC adaptors with part number 217984-001 can cause electrical shocks. The company found the fault through its own internal testing procedures and has already informed its US channel of the problem.
But that?s not the case for the rest of the world. An Armada distributor said: ?No, I haven?t heard about this problem. I usually find these things out either by talking to the press or to my customers.?
In the US, there is an 0800 number people can call but no UK number was available at press time.
