Esprit Telecom, which focuses solely on the European market, is expected to announce a public offering in New York and London in the next few weeks.
The five-year old operator has an enterprise value of $200 million and investment bankers expect it to raise around $100 million in the offering. Esprit wants extra funds to invest in switching equipment and in fibre optic cabling along the Thames Valley, where it has most of its UK customers.
Esprit provides fibre optic lines to large and medium-sized organisations including Marriott and the CCTA. It was set up by Walt Anderson, a north American telecomms entrepreneur.
