Oracle has rounded up Javasoft, IBM and Tandem to endorse and support its work on J/SQL at the Java One Conference next week. As reported by Newswire on 18 December 1996, J/SQL enables users to embed SQL statements into their Java-based applications. This means the packages can access any relational database that supports J/SQL without needing to use a JDBC driver. The J/SQL specification is due for release next month.
