Eckhard Pfeiffer, CEO of Compaq, will give the keynote speech at PC Expo, on 16 June in New York. He will spell out Compaq's intentions for Digital, ending months of speculation. The Digital shareholders' meeting on 11 June is the only potential barrier to the merger, following approval from the Federal Trade Commission last week. Compaq is expected to announce the merging of the two vendors' PC lines and bring out a line of Compaq badged Alpha machines before the end of the year.
