Hewlett-Packard will soon expand its line of OpenView NetMetrix WAN data collection probes with models that support ATM and E-1 networks. Slated to ship in the third quarter, the probes will support ATM-OC-3 and E-1 network interfaces. Compatible with RMON and SNMP network management standards, data collected by the new probes can also be read in Web-based NetMetrix reports. HP will also enhance its T-1 and V-series (V.11, V.24, V.35 and V.36) probes to support new network management features in NetMetrix.
Support for the high-speed networks will enable NetMetrix users to fabricate high-speed testbeds to project application performance. Probe prices will start at $5,995 (#3,655). www.hp.com.
