MCI shareholders gave the thumbs-up to its proposed merger with BT by voting 77 per cent in favour at their annual meeting yesterday. BT shareholders will vote on the merger at an extraordinary general meeting on 15 April. At around the same time MCI will receive indications from the European Commission on how it will rule on the merger. A formal ruling is due by 11 June, while US regulators, the US Justice Department will announce its decision in late May or June.
