The Object Database Management Group (ODMG) has now published a database storage application programming interface (API) for Java to enable developers to build Java applications that can be stored natively in any compliant database. The ODMG binding for Java is part of version 2.0 of the ODMG specification, which outlines how Java, C++ and Smalltalk interact with object-oriented databases.
