Compuware has signed a definitive agreement to acquire most of the assets and certain liabilities of Programart, a privately held developer of performance management software.
Programart’s Strobe MVS Application Performance Measurement System measures the activity of online and batch processing applications and produces a Performance Profile or hierarchy of reports that pinpoint performance problems and bottlenecks in mainframe applications.
Its APMpower Application Performance Analysis System enables users to undertake application performance analysis. The two product lines will be sold alongside Compuware’s existing systems management software.
Joseph Nathan, Compuware’s president and chief operating officer, said: "This acquisition puts us squarely in the application performance management arena and allows us to provide cross platform APM solutions that are as effective for legacy applications as they are for distributed applications.”
