A woman who set up a web page to blag enough cash off surfers to pay her credit card debt of $20,000 is close to reaching her target.
It has taken Karyn just under four months to raise enough money to be a $1,000 short of her target.
The 20-something with an addiction to designer clothes created a storm when she set up www.savekaryn.com, which essentially asked people to pay off her credit card bill.
Although the site had many critics, Karyn developed a cult following and, between donations and selling off some of her designer gear on ebay, she says she is close to settling her debt.
"The Grand Debt Tally is now down to $1,664! That's less than my OLD rent in Manhattan! Wow!" she said on her site.
