Industrial goods retailer RS Components launched a Web site last week offering 100,000 products online.
The site includes customer registration, search engines for data retrieval and online ordering and payment.
New customers can browse and pay by credit card on the site, which is Verisign verified and uses the emerging industry standard, Netscape SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to encrypt all transaction details.
RS? parent company is Electrocomponents, a European-wide electrical and distribution group.
