Veritas has unveiled StorageCentral 5.2, the latest version of its Windows storage management offering, which ships with support for Windows Server 2003 and Windows Storage Server 2003.
The latest release features quota management and file-blocking technology which, the company said, should reduce storage growth by helping to ensure that only business-appropriate files are stored on corporate resources.
Veritas also said that the Windows storage resource management (SRM) system in this latest version of StorageCentral would improve server availability.
Brenda Zawatski, the company's vice president of product and solutions marketing, said: "Veritas storage automation solutions are critical building blocks of the utility computing model, and StorageCentral is the SRM centrepiece for this building block."
