Database vendor Oracle is to push harder to win channel players at its Developers? Conference in December.
Steve Kelly, Oracle EMEA alliances director, said: "This is a life support system for the whole of the channel. They can get pre-release software and SDKs over the Web. This is a major care and feed programme."
The conference will be held in La Defense, Paris on 10-12 December. Kelly predicted as many as 3,000 software developers and a total of 13,000 individuals will attend. "One of the feedbacks we got is that [developers] go to thousands of conferences," he said. "This time the channel will be able to talk to over 40 US product managers and even to Larry Ellison. They will be able to test drive almost 10,000 hours of software."
Oracle?s two-tier distributor model, which includes Sphinx, Level V and Azlan, will co-ordinate the channel efforts, said Kelly.
