Job cuts in the IT industry continue as Motorola prepares 15,000 of its worldwide workforce for the chop. Last week, Motorola issued a profit warning for the second quarter of 1998. The company blamed its expected losses on falling demand in the Asian markets and is expected to take a pre-tax charge of $1.95 billion (#1.2 billion) in the second quarter as part of "renewal plans".
