Oracle chief Larry Ellison and Scott McNealy, Sun CEO will later today make what the two companies described in a statement as an ?industry shaping? software deal.
The agreement is expected to involve the two working on a new type of computer that will run without any kind of operating system.
The deal is being described by commentators as a direct assault on Microsoft and its NT operating system.
