Inprise (formerly Borland) has announced the launch of the C++ Builder 3.0 Enterprise Edition development tool. The package is available with the VisiBroker ORB (object request broker), which has allowed the company to add event and naming services for CORBA components that can be written in Java. The package has been written to integrate with Inprise's middleware packages such as Entera for Remote Procedure Call-based applications and Midas, based on Microsoft's Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) and Component Object Model (COM). The company will produce a CORBA version of Midas later this year. UK pricing and availability have not yet been set.
