Linksys has sealed a distributor agreement with Sharptext, the largest distributor of IT products in Ireland.
The agreement designates Linksys as a Sharptext vendor, allowing Linksys products to be stocked in the distributor's Irish warehouse facilities, in addition to giving Linksys access to Sharptext's training and marketing programmes and inside salesforce.
"Signing with Sharptext, the number one distributor in Ireland, is significant for us at this time," said David Kelly, director of sales in EMEA for Linksys.
"The UK and Ireland have been key contributors to Linksys' market share for nearly five years and this step will dramatically reinforce our position in Ireland."
Kelly added that the deal formed part of an accelerated growth plan for Linksys in EMEA.
Under the terms of the partnership products immediately available from Sharptext will include Linksys' home entertainment devices such as the Wireless-B media adapter and the Wireless-G Internet Video Camera.
For the small business user, the 24-port 10/100 + 2-port Gigabit Switch + 1 Mini GBIC with WebView (SRW224) will also be stocked.
