Endpoint security and management firm Lumension has updated its Risk Manager software, claiming to make it easier for enterprises to assess their protection and vulnerability levels.
Lumension Risk Manager 4.2 is easier to use, the company said, and provides a comprehensive approach to assessing the layers of an organisation's "security posture".
"The ability to track and benchmark an enterprise's security posture on a continuous basis is vital in maintaining a protected network," said Jeff Hughes, director of solution marketing at Lumension.
"Security posture trending offers key metrics about how secure a company is becoming. In tandem with this, IT security managers also need to know how well they are complying with internal policy mandates."
Updates include modular content packs, which simplify the update process and make it easier to deploy upgrades when they become available.
The tool offers detailed patch status reports, as well as operational information about the systems covered by the risk management software.
Lumension explained that an improved and customisable dashboard makes it easier to understand this content.
"Lumension Risk Manager is well equipped to provide key security personnel with the information they need to better communicate IT risks to C-level and business unit leaders," said Hughes.
"The tangible metrics allow an organisation to benchmark security performance, risk and compliance from a single console."
