Cisco has made a "significant" investment in US company Persistence, which uses ORB-based software to deliver speedy database results. Cisco said it had taken an equity share in Persistence because it was interested in server caching software the company has been developing. The Persistence software Cisco has an interest in is called Power Tier, and works with Java, Visual Basic, C and C++, as well as running on a number of different platforms. Power Tier is due to be released next month.
