The latest host security module from Racal is designed to speed up secure electronic commerce transactions and so make them more cost-effective.
The RG7310 is the latest in the Host Security Module (HSM) RG7000 line of devices, which assure data integrity and security using encryption and message authentication codes(MACs). Designed for Tandem's Nonstop processing environment, the new module claims a fivefold increase in transaction throughput compared to its predecessor, the RG7300.
The product secures financial transactions such as share trading, ATM cash withdrawals and electronic funds transfer. It also supports the Visa Cash stored value card, or electronic purse. The RG7310 supports generation and verification of digital signatures using the RSA standard for software 'keys'. Distribution and loading of local master keys is done with a smartcard under PIN protection. Integrity of information is protected with MACs. For higher levels of security and improved compatibility with different cryptographic systems, the RG7000 line now supports double length Zone Master Keys.
The RG7310 can be swapped with older versions without software changes and is available now to users and OEMs.
