Online auction site Interactive Collector has just gone live with a charity sale of music lyrics donated by chart topping bands and solo artists, including The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, Iron Maiden, Tina Turner, U2, Annie Lennox, and Queen. Artists have given hand written and signed original lyrics for the sale, dubbed ?Hits Under the Hammer?, with some artists going a step further, with lyrics written on some unusual materials. James have opted to scribble down Sit down on a garden chair whilst Adam Ant?s Stand & Deliver comes on a black highwayman?s mask.
Interactive Collector said that bids have already started rolling in from around the globe for what is believed to be the biggest online auction of music lyrics too date.
The online auction of song lyrics closes on March 29th at 7pm (GMT). All the proceeds go to the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy and Norwood Ravenswood children's charities, with an initial fund-raising target of #500,000.
