Bill Gates, Microsoft?s CEO, has given himself a modest five per cent pay rise and will now earn only $591,352 a year. At the same time, Gates, worth $36 billion and second only to the Sultan of Brunei in wealth, has given #12 million to Cambridge University.
The money the William Gates Foundation has donated to the university will be used to build a computer laboratory, expected to be completed within a year.
According to a US report, Gates now owns 270.8 million shares in Microsoft and has sold over 11.4 million shares in the company?s last financial year.
