Middleware supplier Level 8 has acquired Momentum Software to boost its presence in the cross-platform message-oriented middleware market. Momentum shareholders will receive 575,000 common shares of Level 8 stock, 200,000 warrants and contingent consideration based on fluctuations in the value of Level 8 stock.
The deal is expected to close by 31 March, and the two companies intend to integrate their product sets. Level 8 sells gateway software between IBM's MQSeries and Microsoft's Message Queue Server and Momentum sells asynchronous store and forward message queuing software.
