Microstrategy plans to ship version 5.0 of its DSS Server online analytical processing (Olap) software in mid-October, which will be optimised for users wanting to build datamarts. The product includes a graphical Data Mart Wizard to provide users with step-by-step instructions on how to build a datamart and supports offline data analysis, enabling customers to download data from their datamarts for analysis on their laptop PCs. DSS Server runs under Windows NT 4.0 and prices start at $37,500 for 20 named users.
