Oracle plans to provide support for the eXtensible Mark-up Language (XML) in the next iterations of its database, application suite, Internet development tools and Application Server.
XML is in the process of being ratified as a standard by the World Wide Web Consortium and Oracle says it wants to support the specification to make it easier for customers to exchange and integrate data residing in different databases, so it can be reused in Web applications.
