Bay Networks has detailed its cable access strategy with the unveiling of its Generation 4 family of products which include a cable modem and a Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS). All the offerings are built on the MCNS Data Over Cable Systems Interface Specification (DOCSIS) and will allow cable operators to offer Internet access and high bandwidth applications over existing cable lines.
