Business Links should develop plans to support enterprise in deprived area while Regional Development Agencies should advise the SBS on regional priorities, according to today's report, Enterprise and Social Exclusion, produced by Policy Action Team 3 in response to last year Social Exclusion Unit report on deprived neighborhoods. The team comprises civil servants and individual drawn from the business sector, banks, local government and the voluntary sector. A national challenge fund will provide finance to community initiatives and access tot he government's loan guarantee scheme will be available.The job of the SBS is to provide top class support to start-ups and SMEs right across the country. That must include our most disadvantaged communities, small business minister Patricia Hewitt said.
