Ever wondered where journalists get their info from? If, for some perverse reason, you want to get to the font of all doctored information, pr-net is for you. It allows you to locate the relevant PR contacts for most IT companies and hyperlink to PR sites containing press releases and related information. The site includes details of more than 400 companies and 100 PR companies.
According to Sam Philips, MD of design company Content Content, the site is self-maintaining: 'We have talked to most of the PR companies in the business and managed to get their co-operation to maintain their details. About 80 per cent have done so.' Philips said about 30 per cent alreadyhave their own sites.
pr-net expects to make most of its money from selling a customised package to PR companies which will allow them to create a 'press centre' on their sites with a standard look and feel. It is being sold for #2,500. Find the site www.pr-net.com.
